NOTORIOUS
WOMEN
DIRECTED BY MEGHAN SHALOM ARNETTE
SCRIPT BY ZOE FITZGERALD
"Women do not lack heroines or role models.
They do though, need to rescue them from the
shadows of selective history."
Created as a tribute to women who have rocked our
world,
Notorious Women uses interviews, speeches, and original
material to inspire
and
educate audiences. This year, the
public will get two sneak peeks at the
show before the troupe heads out to present the program
to schools and community
centers in Autumn 2005. Using interviews, speeches, and
original theatrical
material, this production introduces the audience to
women who fascinate us
and challenge our views of the world.
Included are-
Hawaiian Senator Patsy Mink.
Blues icon Billie Holiday,
Burmese Freedom Fighter Aung San Suu Kyi,
Cuban Ballerina Alicia Alonso
and British Columbia native and painter Emily Carr.
